Surprise snowfall delights kids in Children’s Hospital

Every child deserves to experience the magic and wonder of the holidays, but it’s not always easy for kids in the hospital. In an attempt to bring the magic of Christmas to sick kids and their families, an undercover team went on a secret mission to transform Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s three hospitals into a winter wonderland. It “snowed” from the rooftops of each of the three Children’s hospitals in Atlanta at the same time!

On a 57-degree day in a city that rarely sees snow, dozens of kids—many of them tethered to I.V. poles and wearing surgical masks—caught their first snowflakes, made their first snow angels and, for a few brief minutes, traded the title of “patient” for “kid.” For photos of the snow surprise, click here.
