Of all of the Kardashian sisters, it’s safe to say that fans most believed in the romance between Khloe Kardashian and her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, but after several months of marital problems, the hopes and dreams came to an abrupt end this past weekend when Khloe filed for divorce from Odom. Without question, both Khloe and Odom are coming out of the marriage scathed and burned and although most moms would side with their own child in a divorce, Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner is claiming that she has love for Odom regardless of the divorce.
In a recent interview with People, Jenner spoke about her daughter’s divorce and explained that it’s as painful as it looks to the rest of the world.
“What Khloe is going through is definitely challenging, I’m not going to lie,” Jenner said.
But despite the tough time, Jenner explains that Khloe is showing real strength and grace in the face of her personal tragedy.
“It’s also a very interesting time for her because it’s very cleansing,” she said. “She’s also showed this side of her that I didn’t know she had. I always knew Khloe was strong, but I never dreamed that she had this kind of strength.”
“It’s definitely life lessons that she will be able to apply and use later in her life,” she said. “She’s learned a lot from this situation.”
And that same concern doesn’t just apply to Khloe. For Jenner, it applies to Odom as well.
“I still love Lamar and I love Khloe, and I hate, hate they’re going through this. But if it’s something that Khloe feels she needs to do, then I’m 150 percent behind her. We all lean on each other; we have to,” Jenner said.
And as far as the rumors go that Khloe has already moved on with L.A. Dodgers star Matt Kemp, Jenner says that the rumors are nothing more than fairy-tale stories.
“He’s a family friend. We all live in the same neighborhood and we all hang out,” she explained. “He’s a great guy who we adore, but he’s just a friend. That’s it.”
Well, we hope that both Khloe and Odom come out of this divorce as better people and have better luck the next go ‘round. Check out some other major divorces after the cut. –nicholas robinson
