Doe B’s latest song was somewhat of a prediction of his untimely death. On “Flying With Angels,” Doe B raps about the odd fame that’s achieved after death.
“Gotta live life, because the day you die is the day you become famous…no flashing lights, success has a price,” Doe B rapped on the hook.
But he also went deeper and reveals how he faced jealousy and envy from former friends in his home town of Montgomery.
“Bet my momma still on the same block, riding around in that same car, getting harassed by the same cops…yea, I got a couple of rich friends, but it’s feeling like I switched friends…feel my pain, I go through so much, it’s like f— the fame, where’s the love?,” he raps.
Doe B was shot and killed by men [Jason McWilliams and Darius Thomas] he knew while growing up in Alabama. He was attempting to distance himself from negative individuals; however, the more fame he achieved while touring and rapping with T.I., his old friends became jealous and murdered him and three others during a senseless shooting at the Centennial Hill Bar in Montgomery.
