Porsha Williams’ underground railroad flub
After embarrassing herself on a recent episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Porsha Williams sat down with Andy Cohen to explain herself. As previously reported Porsha Williams made an ignominious flub when she asked if the underground railroad was an actual train system ridden by slaves.
“Well, there has to be an opening for a railroad at some point,” she said. “Because somebody’s driving the train. It’s not electric like what we have now.”
Now attempting to redeem herself on “Watch What Happens Live” Porsha told Andy Cohen that she had a brain lapse and has since read up on her history.
“First I’d like to say when I watched that I realized that was another Porsha moment, a little airy there, just a brain lapse,” said Porsha.
“I went back and I just brushed up on what I already know,” she added. “That’s a very sensitive topic for me…so I went back and I read up on the underground railroad and everything else because I do want to represent that part of my life and my legacy better than I did.”
Despite her attempts to explain, Porsha was still blasted online in part for being the granddaughter of civil rights activist Hosea Williams and appearing uneducated.
#WWHL Please fire @Porsha4real now. Embarrassment to women and black people everywhere. Just plain sad.
