The 2014 International CES, one of the world’s most high-profile consumer electronics trade shows, will take place in Las Vegas Jan. 7–10.
The annual event, which draws close to 150,000 attendees, is organized by U.S.-based industry trade group the Consumer Electronics Association. CES features 1.9 million-square-feet of exhibitor space across multiple venues, with about 3,200 exhibitors.
The event kicks off this year with a new International CES general contractor, Freeman Decorating Company, an 85-year-old company headquartered in Dallas, replacing competitor GES, the trade show’s contractor for 30 years.
Steve Anderson, executive vice president of business development at Freeman, said that to say it’s a significant accomplishment for the company is an understatement. “This is by far the largest event in Las Vegas and the largest event in North America,” he said, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
“From wearable tech to the latest in 3-D printing, the Internet of Things, driverless cars and sensor technologies, the 2014 CES will feature the world’s largest hands-on showcase of emerging innovation,” Karen Chupka, International CES senior vice president, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The expansive technology show uses the Las Vegas Convention Center, LVH and The Venetia and includes manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, technology delivery systems and more and a conference program with more than 300 sessions. There are also other events, including the Breakthrough of the Year Awards, which will be hosted by Nick Cannon on Jan. 9.
Press day was held Monday, Jan. 6 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
