Like anyone would, Tara Wallace has nearly everything her might to keep her distance from her Amina Buddafly, who secretly married Wallace’s ex-boyfriend, Peter Gunz, while he was still with her. And although Peter is the main culprit in this messy love triangle, Wallace still wants nothing to do with Amina, especially when it comes to the idea of Amina being a stepmom to her and Peter’s two sons.
During earlier episodes of “Love & Hip Hop,” Amina demanded that Peter let her have a relationship with his kids so that she could truly feel like she is his wife and a part of his family. But in a recent interview with 4umf.com, Wallace explained that she doesn’t want Amina anywhere near their children.
“I tell Peter all the time, just because you want someone in your life, you’re not going to force them in mine,” Wallace said. “You chose her, I didn’t.”
According to Wallace, she might have readily accepted Amina into her life and as a stepmother if Peter hadn’t cheated on her and lied about their relationship.
“If you wanted to collectively choose, then you should have sat down and said, ‘Hey, I’m moving on; we need to break up,’ and then say, ‘You know what, I’m thinking about dating…’ That’s the right way you would do that if you really want a woman to respect that person,” Wallace said.
“Before the show, we were functioning as a family. We definitely had our issues,” Tara said. “I kinda thought he was going through something, and that I needed to back off sometimes, or maybe I was being too hard on him. So, we weren’t in the best of places, but I had no idea the severity of where we were.”
After Wallace found out that Peter was cheating on her with his new wife, Wallace gradually broke things off with him. Now, rumors claim that Peter’s marriage with Amina is on the rocks and that Amina may be pregnant with his child. And in Wallace’s eyes, Amina may now understand where she’s coming from.
“The one thing you don’t do is mess around with a woman’s children, and she doesn’t understand that because she doesn’t have children,” said Wallace. “One day perhaps she will, and when she does, then she can say, ‘Oh, now I get it.’”
