Audrey Byrd is the owner of Acid Jeans in Chicago. This entrepreneur has successfully made her dream come true, not without challenges. She demonstrates that you have to think outside the box to achieve your goals.
How did you arrive at this career choice?
As young as 11 years old, I have had dreams about fashion. I could not execute them on paper; however, I chronicled my passion through scrapbooks for several years to make this happen.
What separates you from others in your field? What is unique to the experience that you create?
I am different because I make quality designer jeans custom fitted to any size man, ranging from big and tall, slender, and full figured. My jeans are sold at half the cost of designer jeans in a department store.
If you could change one thing in the world of fashion, what would it be?
To have the people of influence in fashion to uplift and promote African American designers, with the same effort that other designers receive.
