Retired lawyer, Jon Setzer, 74,  was killed as he opened his mail, which included a bomb. The blast was so powerful it blew out windows and damaged neighboring homes.  Setzer’s wife, Marion, was seriously injured in the blast and was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Hospital.

The tiny town of Lebanon, Tenn., about 30 miles from Nashville was shocked by the attack. At first this was being treated as an isolated incident, but now federal authorities have become involved. It seems there may be other incidents that  have taken place.

According to FOX17 in Nashville, law enforcement investigators said, “we’re not saying it’s isolated, but we also don’t want the public to panic.”

Residents in the “viewing area” have been asked to be aware of “suspicious packages with suspicious circumstances.” In addition the FBI, ATF and other federal authorities are investigating the bombing. There is nothing to indicate why Setzer was targeted. The firm he retired from was involved in general practice law and was not involved in any noteworthy cases.
