In honor of National Margarita Day, the renowned mixologist, Sam Ziar of Mulberry Project has provided his own succulent twist to the classic cocktail, the Margarita. These aren’t your typical lime and strawberry flavors. Prepare for a palate party with Andrea Correale’s combinations like Mango Basil, Vanilla Beet, and Carrot Ginger.

Chill & Smoke
Ingredients:
- 1.5oz Thai Peppers and Bay Leaves infused Blanco Tequila (Don Julio)
- 3/4 oz Honey Syrup
- 1 oz Lemon Juice
Directions: Combine the ingredients pouring into a glass garnished with a Bacons Salt rim and a bay leaf.
Mango Basil Margarita
Mango Puree Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh mango
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup water
Mango Basil Margarita Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz (3 tablespoons) Mango Puree
- 1 oz (2 tablespoons) blanco tequila
- 1.4 oz clear orange-flavored liqueur
- 3.4 oz fresh lime juice
- 2 fresh basil leaves, torn
- 1 oz club soda, chilled
To make Mango Puree: Place the mango, sugar and water in blender and cover. Blend Cover; blend on high speed until smooth. Transfer to storage container; cover and refrigerate up to 3 days. Makes about 1 1/2 cups. To make margarita: Add 1 1/2 oz of the mango puree, the tequila, orange-flavored liqueur, lime juice and torn basil leaves to cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice; cover and shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glass filled with fresh ice; top with club soda. Garnish with mango puree and basil leaves.
Vanilla Beet Margarita Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Silver Tequila
- 1 oz Vanilla Vodka
- 2 oz pineapple juice ·
- 1/2 oz ginger juice
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- 2 oz beet juice
- 1 oz apple juice
Preparation: Place all ingredients in to a blender filled with ice. Blend and pour into a tall glass. Garnish with a basil sprig
Carrot Ginger Margarita Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Tequila
- 3 oz. carrot juice freshly squeezed if possible
- 1 oz. apple juice
- 2 thin slices of fresh ginger bacon for Garnish
Directions: Muddle the ginger slices in the bottom of a shaker glass. Add the remaining ingredients. Pour into a blender over ice and blend until smooth. Garnish with thin slices of fresh ginger and bacon. The bacon compliments the sweetness of the carrot and the biting spiciness of the ginger; plus, everything is better with bacon!
