The 2014 NBA All-Star weekend was in full force last weekend, with a range of events to meet many tastes and talents. In addition to the focus on NBA dunkers and superstars, the jam-packed days in New Orleans provided events focused on current, budding and future music superstars.
On Saturday at the legendary music showcase, the Howlin’ Wolf AllStar Music Experience panels packed the floors throughout the day.
The programs started with the AllStar Music Experience Executive Panel and boasted top executives from the Def Jam, Atlantic Records and Universal Republic labels who gave tips about what it’s really like to be a recording superstar and how to get there.
Next up were the AllStar Music Experience Radio Panel and the AllStar Music Experience Producer’s Panel. Both panels featured some of the most popular and successful personalities and experts from the music industry providing more insight into the industry and advice about laying tracks and getting played. Panelists included Wild Wayne (WQUE Q93), DJ Nasty (WEDR 99 Jamz), Nina 9 (Sirius XM Shade 45), Double OOKee (WFXE Foxie 105), K Foxx (WMIB 103.5), DJ Bay Bay (KKDA K104), Damon Williams (Music Choice), Erick Sermon, Play-N-Skillz, Luney Tunez, Zaytoven, KLC. Producer Drumma Boy led the Producer’s Panel and was one of many of the day’s highlights.
Later in the afternoon, the AllStar Music Experience Media Panel, with panelists from JustinTimberlake.com, The Source, and more covered all the right ways to get attention from music and entertainment media, from how to reach out to the right journalist to avoiding getting your emails marked as spam. Without a doubt, the AllStar Music Experience was a huge hit. We’re not sure how next year’s will be better, but we can’t wait to find out!
