Nearly four years following the release of Shrek Forever After, Dreamworks, the studio that brought William Steig’s dream to life, hints that there may be a fifth and final chapter about everyone’s favorite ogre.
“We like to let them have a little bit of time to rest. But I think you can be confident that we’ll have another chapter in the Shrek series. We’re not finished, and more importantly, neither is he,” said DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg during an interview with Fox Network.
The popular animated franchise voiced by Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy follows the character of Shrek as he develops a romance with Princess Fiona. The three Shrek films have grossed $2.9 billion worldwide.
