Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood luncheon
Essence’s annual Black Women in Hollywood luncheon went off without a hitch Thursday and brought out some of the biggest black female entertainers. Lupita Nyong’o (above) was highlighted during the L’Oreal Paris sponsored event and given an award for Best Breakthrough Performance.
Just before receiving her trophy, Nyong’o posed for a photo on the red carpet with Rocsi Diaz (above) and her mother, who was her date for the fete (below).
Other attendees included Oprah Winfrey who posed with Chaka Khan and Niecey Nash (below) as well as Naomie Harris, Angela Bassett, Brandy, Tika Sumpter, Jill Scott and Kerry Washington, who cradled her growing baby bump.
