The Philadelphia Tribune had a large crowd of supporters on hand for their 2014 Christopher J Perry/Carter G. Woodson Black History Awards Luncheon. Publisher Robert W. Bogle welcomed everyone and Ahmeenah Young was the mistress of ceremonies. The keynote speaker, the Rev. Calvin O. Butts, pastor of Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church, wove together our history, biblical and current events into an extremely informative and inspirational speech.

The event was sponsored by Comcast, Wells Fargo, Macy’s, Amerihealth, PECO, Independence Health, NBC10, T62 Telemundo and AARP.
