Chalk this one up as a testament to hip hop’s global impact and influence.

As a punishment to Russia for its part in the Crimea/Ukraine drama, President Obama penalized a number of Russian officials by blacklisting them and having their assets frozen. Of course that’s a severe consequence, but it seems that one of the punished men couldn’t care less.

Vladislav Surkov, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, says President Obama’s sanctions against him won’t hurt him too much because when it comes to America, there are only three things he cares about.

“I don’t have accounts abroad. The only things that interest me in the U.S. are Tupac Shakur, Allen Ginsberg, and Jackson Pollock,” Surkov assured a Russian newspaper. “I don’t need a visa to access their work. I lose nothing.”

Guess he told us, huh?
