Nick Cannon has to know that some urbanites —and most people in America—view him as the very embodiment of “corny.” He crawled to new lows when he donned whiteface to promote his latest album in a desperate attempt to maintain or obtain any semblance of relevance in entertainment.
This was neither funny nor artistic in any way, shape or form. If Mr. Mariah Carey was attempting to change his image as a low-level television lackey and flunkie, it was an epic fail.
Still, Cannon tried to justify his thoughtless actions by pointing out elite actor Robert Downey Jr., who donned blackface in the popular comedy Tropic Thunder.
The blowback from such an imbecilic stunt was ferocious enough for Cannon to futilely defend himself on Twitter:
