‘Rolling out’ sponsors film screening ‘Deep City: The Birth of the Miami Sound’ at 38th CIFF

Rolling out, along with Tri-C Jazz Fest, Merrymeeting Group are sponsors of  the film Deep City: The Birth of the Miami Sound at the 38th CIFF,  come out and join us at the Cleveland International Film Festival.

In the mid ’60s Deep City Records and producers Johnny Pearsall and Willie Clarke was the home of artists Betty Wright (“The Clean Up Woman”), Clarence Reid and Paul Kelly. Deep City was the first black-owned label in the state of Florida. They came before Motown or Stax. This film is a lost piece of American history. Directors of this movie are Marlon Johnson, Chad Tingle and Dennis Scholl.


The movie will be screened March 26 at  5:10 p.m., March 27 at 8:15 p.m. and March  28 at 11:15 a.m. For more information, visit  www.clevelandfilm.org.
