Black mom sees nothing wrong with an unrelated man having a relationship with her 8-year-old daughter
Apparently Shamika Young is a very trusting woman. So trusting, she let the janitor at the homeless shelter where she stayed take her daughter on outings.
“I didn’t see anything wrong with him. He’s a good guy … when she did go out with him, he brought her back. He would take her shopping, took her to see Disney on Ice; he bought her a tablet for Christmas, [and] took her out to eat with his granddaughter,” said Young in a previous statement.
Young trusted Khalil Tatum so much that when he picked her up for another fun outing, it took her a month to report her missing. Then, it turns out, the only reason she reported her missing was because the child’s school made an inquiry about her daughter’s absence.
The question becomes, is it OK to allow an unrelated male take your 8-year-old daughter on unsupervised outings? And, who would let that same unrelated man keep her daughter for a month without knowing her exact whereabouts?
Shamika Young, the mother of the 8-year-old Relisha Rudd, is now very distraught. She has appeared on local television saying, “I miss my daughter … I cry every night for her.” But when did this crying every night start? Was it the first night her daughter was away with a grown man or the second week? The man, Khalil Tatum, who has Young’s daughter, was married and lived in the 2500 block of N. Street in southeast Washington, D.C. His wife was shot dead in a room at a Red Roof Inn and Tatum’s car was found in the parking lot. There are many questions to be answered. Why was Tatum at the Red Roof Inn and was Rudd with him when he shot his wife?
