Rap changes every 12-24 months
Rap is like high school. Every few years, a new class enters and the sound of rap changes swiftly. For example, there aren’t many rap fans who were familiar with Young Thug, Problem or the Migos 20 months ago. But today, these rappers are finding their place in hip-hop by introducing new styles and sounds to the culture. New rappers reinvent the wheel and this often leaves some established rappers searching to keep up with the times. The sounds that were hot in 2010 won’t work in 2014.
