A subpar crew
Due to the fact that most rappers have short careers, it’s important for them to have a talented crew. Talented crew members can keep a rapper relevant during the months when they are working on an album or other projects. If Drake and Nicki Minaj weren’t signed to Cash Money, Lil Wayne would probably be releasing Tha Carter 10 this summer. But he has been able to take a hiatus due to their success.
