Lack of output
There was a time when rappers could release an album every two years and fans would be satisfied. But with the age of the Internet and social media, a rapper must release at least three mixtapes in between albums. Rappers such as Gucci Mane and Lil B will often release 10 or more mixtapes each year. Sometimes, quantity over quality can keep a rapper relevant.
