It smells odd.
There are particular fabrics and materials that will hold onto certain smells longer than others. To remove musty odors from fabrics try spraying them with a vodka and water mixture, but even still there is no certainty that all scents will disappear. If the smells of body odor, food, or moth balls linger after numerous times in the washer, let it go.
