15-year-old shot after cutting line to buy Kanye West-inspired Nike sneakers

A 15-year-old was shot after he cut a long line during a sale for the new Nike Foamposite Pro Yeezy. According to New York Daily News, Isaiah Martinez was shot on April 19 at a Foot Locker in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Dozens of eager sneaker enthusiasts camped out and were lined up outside of the Foot Locker store a day before the the sneakers were officially released. Around 6 a.m., two hours before the release, Martinez cut the long line and several customers became upset.


A scuffle occurred and one customer pulled a gun on Martinez. The two exchanged words and the gunman shot Martinez in the foot. The gunman fled and Martinez was taken to the hospital. Around 11 a.m., the store opened and sold out of the sneakers a few hours later.

The Nike Foamposite Pro Yeezy sneakers are the latest collaboration between Nike and Kanye West. The sneakers retail for $250.
