The trio of stars in this film — Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton — are a veritable dream team for any studio looking to produce a chick flick with wide appeal. We’re assuming that’s what they had in mind when going through the casting process, that audiences would be so dazzled by the stars’ physical assets (yeah, like Kate Upton is an actual actress), that the storyline and script, nor anything else of consequence to making a good film, would matter. Thankfully, the producers did give a thought to the details, and they threw in a cameo from Nicki Minaj for good measure. Sure we’ve seen “he’s married, cheats on wife, and cheats on girlfriend with new girlfriend” scenarios before, but none of those flicks had Minaj. Game. Set. Match. –p.d. lee
