Paula Patton and Robin Thicke’s romance became a tragic story of love lost earlier this year when Patton abruptly separated from Thick after two decades together. Since then, Thicke, and even his famous father, Alan Thicke, have been vocal about the split, with the younger Thicke voicing his strong desire to win his wife back. But now Patton has finally broken her silence and is speaking about life after the breakup.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Patton talked about meeting Thicke at an 18-and-under club when she was 15 and he was 14, and he wooed her into a kiss by singing Jodeci’s “Forever My Lady” to her in his dad’s living room.
“He wasn’t my first kiss,” says Patton, “but he was my first lots of other things.”
And though things between the two were sweet for many years, even resulting in a 3-year-old son, Julian, tough times befell the couple over the past year when Thicke was accused of cheating on Patton and was even photographed grabbing a female fan’s butt. New reports have even claimed that the couple split over an open marriage gone wrong when Thicke struck up a private affair with the woman they’d both been sharing their bed with.
Although Patton says that she’s unsure of whether to stay with Thicke or leave him, one thing that is clear is that Thicke isn’t the only one who can’t let go of the love they had.
“We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there — always was, and always will be,” said Patton.
Well, whatever happens between these two, we wish them the best and hope they remain a united and peaceful family. –nicholas robinson
