T.I. may have spent the last few years rebranding himself as a family man and film and TV star, but there’s no denying that he’s still a hardcore rapper who refuses to have his name slandered in the streets. And “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Apollo Nida learned that the hard way when T.I. confronted him last week after the reality TV star compared his recent plea deal to one T.I. had years ago. Now, after the infamous confrontation, T.I. is opening up about why he took offense when Nida mentioned his name and case.
On Friday, Tip sat down for an interview with Big Tigger and explained how he discovered Nida name dropped him on Twitter.
“To be honest with you man, my phone rang and somebody said dude said such and such and I hadn’t seen it, but I’d say within 30 minutes, just low and behold I just happened to be at an event and I saw him. So I asked him what’s up with that and then he said he didn’t say it, so I asked him to clarify it so people won’t be misconstrued and I went on about my day,” T.I. explained.
“I can’t have no slandering. If you’re going to tell the truth on me then that’s fine and he said he didn’t say it so, cool. Anybody got something to say about me man, make sure its the truth and if it ain’t the truth, just be ready to see me,” he added.
Tip then explained that anyone who doubts whether he’s a snitch or not can easily research his plea online through public government records.
“The wonderful thing about the federal government and the United States is that all agreements, plea agreements are public record so you can pull Clifford Joseph Harris … It’s all out there man so you can pull my agreement up and just so you know what you’re looking for, it’s called a Prop 35 or rule 35 that’s associated with cooperation when you agree to cooperate. So when you’re looking at the paperwork and you’re looking for my agreement look for that. Just read it in great detail, take your time, print it out … take it to your thinking seat, read it up. I ain’t really got nothing to hide and then for real wasn’t nobody bigger than me to tell on; I was the top of the pyramid, there wasn’t nobody to get no higher than me, so there wasn’t nobody to tell on. But I’ll be kicking that jazz for probably 20, 30 more years because the mind loves to be misled. The truth, that’s for intelligent people, a fool loves lies and we’re dealing with more fools than intelligent people out there. So a fool going to keep on up with the lies, so I ain’t gonna trip; that don’t do it when my name coming out your mouth and it’s spitting out the seed,” T.I. said.
Well, let this be a lesson for the world to learn. Don’t ever mention T.I. in a negative light unless you’re ready for a face to face confrontation. – nicholas robinson
