Tabloids exploded this week with news that the Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were under investigation by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services over the release of a photograph of their 13-year-old daughter, Willow Smith, lying in bed with shirtless 20-year-old actor, Moises Arias. Reports revealed that the investigation had opened up last week and that Willow and Arias were to be interviewed in the process as well. Now, a report has revealed that Willow has already been interviewed by DCFS.
“Willow was questioned on two separate occasions by social workers from child protective services. Once in the presence of her parents, and the second time, Willow was alone with the social workers,” a source revealed to RadarOnline.
The source also revealed that Will and Jada have been interviewed as well.
“This is how all investigations are handled. Both Will and Jada have also been questioned. At this point, the investigation remains open, and won’t be closed for at least another few weeks.”
Despite all of the controversy over Willow’s photo and her welfare, the source says that the DCFS has been taking some heat as well for investigating the Smiths.
“The department is legally obligated to investigate all inquiries from the public. They are legally obligated to do so … Imagine if something horrible happened to Willow, and social workers ignored it … there would be a huge outcry as well,” the source said.
“The goal and sole focus of DCFS is to make sure that children are in safe and loving environment,” the source added.
Well, it’s certainly understandable why DCFS is doing the investigation. We just hope that the Smiths really are providing a stable home for Willow. But when your parenting methods go against the grain, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to have the world question your parental abilities. – nicholas robinson
