Columbus Short says he’s done with binge drinking
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. And while former “Scandal” star Columbus Short actually denies he is an alcoholic, in the same sentence, he vows to put down the booze.
Earlier this week, Short was captured by TMZ photographer’s with crisis counselor and money manager Ed Butowsky, who has stepped up to the plate to help Short get his life back on the right track. While Short is currently refusing to enter a rehab program of any kind, he claims that he is done with binge drinking. Due to recent events, we can only hope that his intentions are genuine.
As we previously reported, Short was arrested in Dallas, Texas, on July 4, for public intoxication. According to authorities at the Dallas Police Department, Short had a little too much to drink at the Katy Trail Ice House and tried to leave without paying his tab. When approached by security in regards to his bill, Short became irate and starting screaming.
An eyewitness stated that Short accused the bouncer of being racist. Following a few heated words and a short scuffle, cops arrived on the scene and hauled Short to jail.
On March 25, Short was also involved in a bloody bar brawl in Los Angeles, California, in which the victim of the assault was hospitalized.
