Shante Anthony Franklin, otherwise know as Curren$y will be making his way to Chicago on Thursday to perform at Metro.

The New Orleans native with smooth delivery is focused on a lyrical devotion to the truth and authenticity in his music. Known for his signature #jetlife mantra, the plan is to continue allowing him to be himself at Warner Brothers. In 2012, Curren$y poised himself for his debut album release. The Stoned Immaculate was released by Warner Brothers on June 5, 2012.

Curren$y or “Spitta” explained that The Stoned Immaculate was more complicated to record than his previous albums and noted that he’s finished off past projects in only a few days. “Just from working with more people. I did more traveling than I usually do when I’m working on a project. I did Weekend at Burnie’s in Miami with Monsta Beatz in two days. With this one I moved around. I was in L.A. with Daz, in Miami with Pharrell and I recorded some of the records in New York and s—. That’s really the only difference [with that album], the music and my mind-set [are] still the same.”

In conjunction with Midwest Live Entertainment and Sean Healy PresentsCurren$y will perform live at Metro Chicago (3730 North Clark St.) on Thursday July 17. Doors open at 8 p.m. and this is an 18 and up event. Tickets can be purchased here.
