When pictures first appeared of Stockton, California, career criminal Jeremy Meek, there was huge buzz on social media. Many called the young black man dreamy, sexy and model perfect. In fact, it was reported by rolling out that he was offered a modeling contract by Blaze Models in Los Angeles. It was reported by satire site ‘huzlers.com’ that Meek was shot dead by his wife one hour after getting out of jail.
The fake story fooled thousands of people. In the hoax story the writer spins a believable tale about Meek:
“According to police Meek was released from jail this past Tuesday, July 15th, a little after midnight he went to his mother’s house. While at the house he got into an argument with his wife Lashanda Meek, at some point he was allegedly stabbed and shot by his wife. Police responded and found Jeremy Meek lying in middle of the street; he was transported to Community Regional Medical Center and later died from his wounds.
“Lashnda Meek went on the run from police and was later captured at a nearby apartment complex. Police seized the mini-van she was believed to be driving and a gun from the apartment where she hid from police. Apparently Lashanda Meek was also injured and she was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. She will face murder charges once she is released and sent to the Stockton County Jail.”
But it’s OK, ladies, Jeremy Meek is alive and well.
