Atlanta Technical College students win gold at the national SkillsUSA competition

The Atlanta Technical College team, comprised of  Dorothea Hofler, Iris Reese and Terence Whitehead (back row), won the gold medal at the American Spirit competition at the 50th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference, a showcase of career and technical education students. The SkillsUSA Championship was held in Kansas City, Mo., in June. Also the team of Ronnie Carter, Michaela Lupoe, Thomas Snelling and Josette Whatley was awarded the bronze medal in the Entrepreneurship category.

SkillsUSA is a national partnership of students, teachers and industry, working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA chapters help students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations excel. SkillsUSA has more than 300,000 students and instructors as members.
