Nicki Minaj blasts ‘Anaconda’ cover critics, compares herself to ‘Sports Illustrated’ models

nickiminajanaconda

Yesterday, Young Money artist Nicki Minaj debuted the racy cover art for her new single “Anaconda.” On the cover, Minaj shamelessly showcases her famous derriere in nothing but a pink G-string bikini and blue sneakers. As predicted, the Smooth magazine inspired image generated quite the tizzy on social media, as fans felt that Minaj should have taken another route for someone who has noted periodically that she demands respect.

Now, Minaj is clapping back at her critics with an interesting comparison. Last night on Instagram, the “Beez in the Trap” rapstress posted a series of images from Sports Illustrated, comparing her booty shot to several white bikini models, who have displayed their backsides in a similar fashion. “Angelic. Acceptable. Lol” she wrote.

While some argued that the swimsuit models are paid to do just that, model swimwear, Minaj may have a point here. Do you think she’s being held to a double standard or is Minaj simply selling sex for sales? Hit the flip for more of Minaj’s Sports Illustrated comparisons below. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie

No, I think she’s being paid for exactly what they want her to do, further demean and destroy the positive image and respect of the black woman her predecessors fought to obtain and reduce us from black queens to massa’s object if desire and ultimately his whore!

Black women are becoming last pick wives and prime choice azz. Who cares about beauty or brains when all you’re good for is bootNicki Minaj and her peers are handled and their job is merely to perpetuate the stereotypes of black women since we are innately the most powerful women, but sadly the most weak willed and easily influenced, quick to accept any and everything because we

You said ” last pick wives but prime choice ass”…. You put it so eloquently. I’m stealing this just to let you know.lol cause you, in a lot of ways, talking right.

The difference is Nicki’s ass is all fake and the Sports Illistrated models are real. Nikki has even lightened her skin and has fake boobs. There is no comparison.

      You’re right… Nicki looks better.

Its not what you wear it’s how you wear…this is by no way a comparison to Sports Illustrated. Nicki knows good and well she is not modeling a swimsuit, she modeling her ass implants. She looks distasteful and ignorant. Souls come cheap these days I guess

    Difference. SI models are attractive.

Wow, so creative, a Luke look-a-like cover…how UNCREATIVE! This is all she could come up, showing you a$$ in a thong, tennis shoes, and bra????? As I thought, she has no damn talent whatsoever! Classless and Clueless!

  7. Lyric on July 28, 2014 at 10:50 am

Um, when you are one who never knows how to cover up and feels the need to exploit your own body for financial gains or attention, then sweets you are NO difference that anyone else. You are talentless and can’t come up with anything else, we get that, but to start lashing out at swimsuit models, how gross!

Agreed! She’s an entertainer! Lil Kim had it spread in the front on her cover… Nicki has the back. She looks good.

Nicki has already said in an interview that she is going to “exploit” herself to the fullest for her “brand”. So, I guess she is sticking to her word. But, no, I wouldn’t find this shot comparable to SI models, but more like the stuff in Black Tail or Smooth magazines.
