In a sport where only 6 percent of the players are black, it’s hard not to notice the Jackie Robinson West team. The Jackie Robinson West team is an all-black team of 11- and 12-year-old boys from Chicago’s South Side. They’re the first team in 30 years from Chicago headed to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The team that made it to the Little League World Series 30 years ago was also the Jackie Robinson West team in 1983.
