Robin Williams has been officially memorialized.
According to Williams’ official death certificate, obtained by Radar Online, on Aug.12, the 63-year-old star was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the San Francisco Bay.
During the morning of Aug. 11, the Oscar winning actor died from asphyxia due to hanging himself. Williams was discovered by his personal assistant, slightly suspended in a seated position. Although chemical substances were found in his system at the time of his death, toxicology results will not be available for two to six weeks while testing is being performed.
“Mr. Williams [was found] clothed in a seated position, unresponsive, and with a belt secured around his neck with the other end of the belt wedged between the closed closet door and door frame,” Marin County Sheriff’s Lt. Keith Boyd told reporters.
During the week of his death, reports state that Williams’ was honored in a small ceremony held by his widow, Susan Schneider.
The “Flubber” actor will be honored at the 2014 Emmy Awards, his tribute being introduced by Billy Crystal while Sara Bareilles sings. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
