Adidas releases new cleats designed by award-winning Yohji Yamamoto

adidas Real Madrid Third Kit

Adidas has teamed up with award-winning Japanese fashion designer, Yohji Yamamoto for a Third Kit and Adizero F50 Cleat in honor of the defending UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid.

Aiding the brains behind the Adidas Y-3 brand with debuting the new line are players James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Marcelo, and Karim Benzema. Per the press release…

“The striking new all-black kit aims to unify the values of Madridismo focused on its two main elements, greatness and determination. Both elements are represented by two mythical beasts which originate from the Eastern culture and are interlaced on the front of the shirt:

· Dragon king symbolizes the greatness, glory and power of the club

· Dragon bird, an animal that is able to live in the most hostile situations, represents the club’s resistance, determination and agility on its way to the victory.”

The kit designed in Yamamoto’s favorite color, black features simple white details, a mao type collar, a two-color crest and the Yamamoto’s signature. The uniform is equipped with Adidas’ innovative Adizero technology, ensuring unparalleled range of motion, comfort and breath-ability for maximum performance.

In conjunction with the third kit unveil, Adidas has also released its latest limited edition of Yohji Yamamoto Adizero F50 cleats. Following the success of last year’s launch with the Yamamoto Adizero F50 boot, the new cleat ties in both vibrant blue and green patterns and elements of Japan’s modern sci-fi culture, creating a spiritual connection between the past and the future.

A limited number of Real Madrid’s Yamamoto designed third kits and Adizero F50 cleats are available on sale now, at www.adidas.com and www.soccer.com.
