Diamond’s inflated sense of self
While in the studio, Diamond is paid a surprise visit from superstar rapper and actress Eve. The two catch up on old times and Eve gives Diamond encouragement after learning of her move to New York City to further her solo rap career. This seems to put a battery in Diamond’s back as later that night during a night out with the girls, Diamond made sure to make mention of the Billboard magazine article in which she was featured as someone who “changed the game and paved the way” for contemporary female emcees along with Lauryn Hill and others. When questioned by Nyemiah as to how exactly she’s “changed the game”, after a pregnant pause and long sip of wine, Diamond mumbled something about being “double platinum” before being led away be Siya who was growing more and more uncomfortable with the brewing tension at the table.
