Son beats and shoots father for protecting his biracial grandkids

Jeff Daniels beat and shot his own father

A grandfather in Jackson, Mississippi, showed just how much he loved his biracial grandkids by almost paying with his life. Craig Wilson let his grandchildren stay over his house for a visit but this did not sit well with his stepson. The stepson, Jeff Daniels already had heated arguments regarding the grandkids. Wilson told his son, “He would die for his children and to him, his grandchildren are like his children,” according to family members.

Daniels made continuous threats to keep the biracial grandkids away from the house and a few weeks ago the family found a burning cross in their front yard. This time Daniels came to the house with his stepson and engaged in another heated argument with his father. The father would not back down and told his son that the grandkids were his blood. Daniels then started to beat his father with a pair of brass knuckles while calling him horrible names and then shot him with his own gun.Wilson is now in critical condition fighting for his life. Wilson’s daughter, the mother of the three children, is distraught and the father who is black would not make a comment. The family maintains that because of the racist nature of the attack, Daniels should be charged with a hate crime. However, the Smith County Sheriff does not agree that the assault rises to the level of a hate crime according to state law.

Daniels was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and was being held on a $20,000 bond. Daniels has since posted bond and was released. There is an ongoing investigation.
