MARTA hosts job fair in Clayton County

On Saturday, Sept. 6, MARTA held a job fair at the South Clayton Recreation Center in Hampton, Georgia. The job fair was in anticipation of possible transit service expansion. MARTA has openings in engineering, information technology, finance, rail and bus operations, facilities maintenance, and police services. Recruiters were on-site to accept resumes.

Rolling out asked LaShanda Dawkins, MARTA’s senior director of human resources, a few questions.


What is the purpose of having this job fair?

We wanted to introduce Clayton County community to the opportunities at MARTA. We have a lot opportunities right now for growth and development. We are in a very big hiring phase and wanted to extend these opportunities to the community.


Will MARTA come to Clayton County?

Yes, if the people want us, we are ready to bring MARTA to Clayton County.

If you missed the job fair, applicants can apply online but must be at least 21 years of age and will be required to pass all future tests, including a background investigation, criminal history records check, polygraph examination and credit check. They must also pass a physical exam, drug/alcohol screening, and psychological testing and have a valid driver’s license.
