Daycare worker convicted of kidnapping, raping 5-year-old girl

Christina Regusters

A former daycare worker in Philadelphia was found guilty of impersonating a woman, kidnapping her daughter and raping the child. According to reports by  WLS-TV, Christina Regusters, 21, went through extreme measures to kidnap and abuse a 5-year-old child.

Regusters wore a Muslim veil to impersonate that child’s mother and picked her up from Bryant Elementary School in January 2013. She then kept the young girl for 20 hours. It took the school six hours to realize the girl had been kidnapped.

The young girl said she was blindfolded and placed under a bed. Regusters sexually assaulted the 5-year-old girl and took her to a park. The young girl was found in the cold, half-naked in a playground wearing only a T-shirt.

Regusters’ DNA and some semen was found on the girl’s shirt. Police also discovered child pornography and violent porn on Regusters’ computer.

Regusters’ attorneys suggested an unidentified man was the mastermind of the kidnapping.

However, Regusters was still convicted of kidnapping, aggravated assault and deviant sexual intercourse. She will be sentenced in December.
