Kanye West, Rick Ross, French Montana, Diddy accused of swiping local song

Kanye West is involved in yet another song stealing controversy…well kinda.

This time the Chicago rapper and producer is accused in conjunction with French Montana, Diddy, and Rick Ross of stealing a song by Atlanta rapper 9Gotti. Though the track, produced by West and said to feature Lil Wayne and Ross, has not even been released, 9Gotti is crying foul.

According to a report by TMZ, Chinga Chang Records, home of 9Gotti, reached out to West, Ross, and Diddy in an effort to stop their song from seeing the light of day:

The record label sent a cease and desist letter that’s pretty comical … saying the ripoff may have been a “drunken oversight.” It also takes a shot at Diddy — accusing him of being a music thief — and says Rick Ross should know better because he’s an ex-correctional officer.

Last month during a radio interview, French did mention he was finishing up a song called “Gucci Mane” with Ross and Lil Wayne. He also stated the song was produced by West and co-produced by The Mekanics and it was to be included on his forthcoming album Mac & Cheese.

Could this be another case of the big mean major artists cuffing a song submitted to them by an independent artist? Only time will tell.

Stay tuned folks.
