Happy 30th birthday, Wale! Born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, a rapper of Nigerian decent born in Washington, DC, he rose to prominence with his song “Dig Dug (Shake It).” He produced and released “Dig Dug” entirely on his own and it became the most requested radio song in D.C.’s history. In high school and college he played football and is still a big fan of the Washington Redskins.
