The biggest cultural difference between New York City and Atlanta isn’t the accents or the food. Southerners are used to a certain amount of breathing room and a laid-back lifestyle. Living in New York City means getting used to having people in your space virtually at all times; whether commuting on the train or scrambling through midtown, you’re always going to be in the company of strangers. Add to that the general hustle of the city and it can be a bit daunting for someone who’s used to having a bit more room in which to operate day-to-day.
