Ron’s Gang Summit
As Ron relates in one of his confessionals, he’s had it on his heart to put together a gang summit to bring together bangers from both sides of his old neighborhood. He and Jay take a trip to his old Compton, California, stomping grounds and encounter some young men whom they share an inspirational word with and pray over. Shortly thereafter, they go by a neighborhood rib shack where they encounter Rik Dogg, a former OG gang member who Ron helped to minister and turn his life around. Later Ron stops by anti-violence program Stop The Violence’s offices where the community activist that heads it up tells him that he wants him to meet a young lady named Erica. A meeting is arranged and we meet Erica aka HB or HeadBussa, a Blood, and her husband Andrew, who is a Crip. Erica explained earlier how she felt like her life was a repeat of a bad cycle that included her mom and that she wanted out and wanted something different for her daughter. Upon meeting Andrew, he tells Ron that he is comfortable where he is and doesn’t feel he needs help. The meeting ends after Andrew finally relents and opens the door to the possibility of being shown a better way to make a living outside of street life.
