Lisa Wu may have left “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for greener pastures at “Hollywood Divas,” but that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten her “RHOA” roots. And when she recently spoke about her former “RHOA” BFF NeNe Leakes, she explained that she understood why Leakes misses her original cast mates.
Last year, Leakes, who is the only original cast member left, appeared on “Good Morning America” and explained to the host that she wished she was still filming “RHOA” with the original cast.
“The deal is, we started together, and it was a sort of like a journey that we had together, so I miss them in that way,” said Leakes.
The “RHOA” vet recently vented about her new cast mates on “The Real,” saying, “It’s bittersweet for me because I feel like all the new girls that come along, they always come for me. They want to get me off my throne, but they’re not going to be able to do it.”
During an interview with Sister 2 Sister, Wu spoke about Leakes’ comments and said that she understands her former cast mate’s stance.
“I get what she’s saying. We started this journey together. No one knew it would be a phenomenon. Coming from being an original and having the new cast and where the show has evolved, she respects that it was organic,” Wu said.
“As the years go on, [NeNe] feels that a lot of people are probably putting on for the cameras. That’s probably what’s she’s talking about,” Wu added.
