Actors who got their start on ‘The Wire’

2nd Annual Paleyfest New York Presents: "The Wire" Reunion

On Saturday, October 18, the The cast of HBO’s “The Wire,” reunited at PayleyFest in New York. On hand for the epic reunion, were producers David Simon and Nina Noble along with actors Wendell Pierce, better known for his role as troubled Detective William ‘Bunk’ Moreland and Sonja John, who played Detective Shakima ‘Kima’ Greggs. Noticeably absent from the event was heartthrob Idris Elba aka Russell ‘Stringer’ Bell.

During the hour long panel, cast members gushed about their behind-the-scenes rituals, the show’s sudden rise to fame and how one cast member almost walked away from the cult series.
