The totals are in and Gone Girl has finally loosened its grip on the top spot after two weeks and dropped to the No. 2  movie in the  country.

Brad Pitt and his war drama Fury, which also stars Michael Pena, is the new top dog having raked in over $23 million. Despite falling to number two, psychological thriller Gone Girl with Ben Affleck and Tyler Perry made its way into the $100 million club by scoring an additional $17.8 million. And rounding out the top three, the animated hit The Book of Life featuring the voices of Zoe Saldana and Ice Cube brought in $17 million.

Justin Simien’s buzzworthy film Dear White People only opened in 11 theaters around the country but still managed to make an impact by collecting almost half a million dollars. Very impressive when you take into account that Fury opened in more than 3,000 theaters in comparison.
