Taylor is at peace with Shumpert, but her relationship hasn’t taken away her passion and feistiness. That same uptown attitude is present on her album and translates to her exuberant stage performance.
Her first project has arrived after seven years of triumphs, failures and picking up the pieces. She might be on the cusp of even greater achievements, but Taylor’s not exactly ready to make any pronouncements on the subject.
“I personally don’t know what my legacy will be because I feel like [there] is so much more left to me,” she explains. “I feel that if I try to predict the future, I will be limiting myself. If I say I want to be a mogul, I might just be more that that. So I’m kind of living in the now and building my brand and empire, so 20 years from now, I can say exactly what I am.”
