Thursday’s Powerhouse 2014 concert in Brooklyn, New York, was not without surprises. New York hip-hop radio station Power 105.1 held the famed show at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn; and featured superstars like Jeezy, J. Cole, Chris Brown, T.I., Migos, French Montana, Trey Songz and more.
But it was the surprise guests who stole the show.
Remy Ma took the stage alongside French Montana, much to the delight of the crowd. Remy came home from prison back in August after serving six years. And Jeezy surprised the audience with none other than Jay Z, who took the stage in his hometown of Brooklyn to perform “Seen It All” alongside the Atlanta rap star. Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee were the hosts, as well as Angie Martinez, who just joined Power 105 this summer in a highly-publicized move from rival Hot 97.
That put Martinez in the somewhat-unique position of having hosted both Hot 97 Summer Jam back in June and Powerhouse 2014. She had been at Hot 97 for almost 20 years before the announcement that she was switching to Power 105.
