Lil Durk gets arrested; denied bail

Rapper Lil Durk was arrested on gun charges earlier this week for the third time in three years.

Police investigating a homicide came to the rapper’s Orland Park, Illinois, home just outside of Chicago and found two guns on a kitchen table near where Durk was standing.

According to a police report, Durk supposedly told police “I got those pipes (guns) ’cause (expletive) always be tryin’ to take my bands (money)” when asked about the guns. Recovered by authorities were a .45 caliber Glock and a .45 caliber Springfield.

During a bond hearing this past Thursday (Nov. 6), Durk’s attorney sang a different tune and gave cause for doubt that the guns could belong to his client.

“In three weeks, he was going on a world tour,” his attorney Sam Adam Jr. declared. “Nine people were present. These guns could have been theirs.”

Because Durk pleaded guilty to a possession charge last August, he was denied bond.

Durk, real name Durk Banks, smiled sheepishly at his wife and kids in the courtroom while being led away after the judge’s ruling. “He’s not guilty,” his wife told The Chicago Tribune. “He’s happy his family was here supporting him, but not happy being here.”

No word yet from Def Jam how this latest arrest will affect the release of Durk’s debut album entitled Remember My Name.

Lil Durk’s next hearing is set for Nov. 13.
