Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the greatest Americans and human beings that ever lived. His philosophy and teachings will continue to influence the world for generations. However, the government files related to his actions in the civil rights movement and his assassination are sealed by court order until the year 2027. Now a portion of what Dr. King went through as a target of the FBI has been revealed in a letter thought long lost. The letter was allegedly dictated by former FBI director J.Edgar Hoover and was sent anonymously sometime in 1964. During this time, the civil rights movement was in full swing and King was at the height of his popularity with the movement making significant strides in civil rights law. For many, King’s power was a threat to the white political power structure of the country and he had to go.
The poorly written letter has now emerged 50 years later and demands that King commit suicide, in 34 days, to avoid disgrace.
An excerpt from the letter states:
“You could have been our greatest leader. You, even at an early age have turned out to be not a leader but a desolate, abnormal moral and the seal. We will now have to depend on our older leaders like Wilkins a man of character and thank God, we have others like him. You were gone. Your “honorary” degrees, your Nobel Prize (what a great farce) in other words not save you. King, I repeat you are done… King, there is only one thing left for you to do. You know what it is. You have just 34 days in which to do (this exact number has been selected for a specific reason, it has definite practical significant. You are done. There is but one way out for you. Better take it before your filthy, abnormal fraudulent self is bared to the nation.”
Included with the letter was an audiotape, which has not been released, allegedly containing proof of adulterous affairs and all night orgies. An image of the letter can be viewed on the next page.
