It looks like actor Idris Elba has definitely caught the music bug.
The part time DJ, also known as Big Driis, has confirmed that he is at work on a new album based upon detective John Luther, his character from the BBC crime drama “Luther.”
“Detectives carry a lot of stuff. They meet someone who’s done something heinous, but they have to have an objective perspective on them until proven guilty,” Elba says. “That could create some really good songs … and definitely an interesting mood, musically.”
This will be Elba’s second music project based on a character he’s portrayed. He recently released the album Mi Mandela, which was based on his role as Nelson Mandela in the biopic Long Walk To Freedom.
The new album is tentatively entitled Murder Loves John.
No release date for the project has been given.
